Each year, our Physiotherapists gather from across South-East Queensland for the annual Allsports Symposium; a professional development seminar conducted by the Allsports Group. It is a vital means of maintaining the ongoing education of our therapists and is an important part of the work that we do as therapists.

Toe walking also called ‘equinus gait’ is a walking type where the person walks mostly on the ball of their foot (equinus means horse-like, referring to the fact that a horse walks on its toes whilst its heel is elevated off the ground).
Kids get arthritis tooMost people are aware of arthritis and may even know someone with arthritis but what many people don’t realise is that kids are also affected by arthritis. In fact, it is the most common as well as most severe persistent medical conditions of childhood with 1 in 1000 children affected.
When I tell people I am a physiotherapist who works with kids, I often receive looks of puzzlement. “Surely babies can’t sprain their hamstring, nor should a four-year-old get sciatica right?”
This year marks a decade of dedication from Allsports Camp Hill Director and Physiotherapist, Jonathon Hennessy, and his work with Queensland’s Elite Youth Football teams at the Football Federation Australia National Youth Championships.
Each year, under the Smiling for Smiddy marquees, our team of physiotherapists and masseurs volunteer their time to tend to the often exhausted and weary bodies of Team Smiddy members at the Noosa Triathlon Multisports Festival.
