
Matt is an experienced Accredited Exercise Physiologist who graduated with a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology (with Distinction) from QUT. He is also a clinical educator and assessor (Faculty of Health (QUT)). He is experienced in multidisciplinary and multimodal rehabilitative and preventative settings, having worked in orthopaedic, neurological and cardiac rehabilitation. Most recently, he has spent the past two years working for an orthopaedic spine surgeon, specialising in operative, interventional and conservative spine rehabilitation. He has been involved in several research studies pertaining to low back pain and is co-author of podium presentations at national and international orthopaedic and neuroscience conferences. Prior to becoming an exercise physiologist, Matt gained 15 years’ of experience as a professional personal trainer – delivering personal, group, corporate and community health and fitness services for diverse client populations.
Matt is passionate about delivering high quality client-centred care through evidence-based clinical practice, with the goal of getting patients of all types back to doing what they love. His personal experience with orthopaedic surgeries and rehabilitation, low back pain, and autoimmune disease, has given him firsthand experience in navigating the recovery process and managing chronic conditions through physical activity and movement. He has a very empathetic approach and is passionate about guiding people through the challenges of managing chronic conditions and recovery, restoring confidence and self-efficacy, and empowering people to be able to manage their health.
