Tangiora Armstrong - Sportsmed NQ Physiotherapist

Tangiora graduated from James Cook University in 2019 and was excited to join the SportsMed NQ team in 2020 to begin her career. From a young age, Tangiora discovered an immense passion for physiotherapy with key interest in the areas of musculoskeletal rehabilitation and neuro physiotherapy. Tangiora grew up playing rugby union for 6 years and was the first female athlete successfully selected for the Townsville representative side of rugby union. Additionally, Tangiora immersed herself within local touch competitions since 15 years of age and has travelled away for oztag state cup competitions for numerous years. Tangiora’s love and passion for sports is reflected in her dedication towards the study of biomechanics and identifying the pathophysiology that contribute to injuries.

Tangiora contributes to expand her knowledge by continuing to complete various professional development courses. Her mannerisms and professionalism will reflect her determination and empathy when providing healthcare to her patients. Additionally, Tangiora would like to improve her knowledge regarding pain behaviours and education. She would love to advocate individuals of who suffer from chronic pain and help them to get back to activities they once enjoyed.
