Emmah-Baque Physiotherapist

Emmah Baque has been part of the Q Paediatrics team since she graduated from The University of Queensland with first class honours in 2012. She has experience assessing, treating and providing programs to any child from 0 to 18 years of age. In particular, Emmah specialises in children who have developmental delays, neurological disabilities (e.g. Cerebral Palsy, Acquired Brain Injury and Spina Bifida) and pain related conditions.

Emmah is currently completing her PhD at the Queensland Cerebral Palsy and Rehabilitation Research Centre at the Centre for Children’s Health Research and works closely with the Queensland Paediatric Rehabilitation Service. As part of her PhD project, Emmah is comparing the efficacy of a web-based multimodal therapy program, “Move it to improve it” (MitiiTM) to usual care in improving activity capacity and performance for children and adolescents with an Acquired Brain Injury.

Emmah has attended and presented at the last two Australasian Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine conferences (2014 and 2016). She also travelled to Austin, Texas in 2015 to present her research at the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine conference. Emmah was nominated for the prestigious Gayle G. Arnold Award for best scientific paper at this conference. Emmah has been member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association since 2012.
