Matthew Chan - Physiotherapist

Matthew has worked in Tasmania and Victoria in a wide variety of fields including Community health, Aged care and Occupational physiotherapy. He joined the Restore Movement team in 2014 and has studied with Steve Sandor to enhance his skills and knowledge. Matthew’s special interests include back and neck pain, including sciatica and headaches and sports injuries. From his work in occupational physiotherapy, he is experienced with proactive strategies to prevent back, neck and shoulder pain from bad posture and repetitive strain injuries from work.

He gets excited about ergonomic setup of office workstations and manual handling training to prevent lifting injuries.

Matthew is a strong believer of continuous learning. He has developed skills in:

  • Conducting Tai Chi Classes
  • Occupational safety
  • Ergonomic workstation setup
  • Repetitive strain injuries (Elbow, wrist, hands)
  • Workplace injuries
  • Core stabalisation training (Back, Neck)
  • Running assessments and training.

In his spare time, Matthew likes to cycle, swim, practice Tai Chi and swing dance. He is an avid reader of Stephen King and thought the Harry Potter books were almost as good as his love of cheese cake, which he works off by running half marathons.
